Christ Church

Steeped in history, this Victorian church stands on one of the highest points of the town, with its handsome spire visible for many miles.  Christ Church is a welcoming, outward looking church and we are delighted to keep our doors open most days of the week.

There is always something going on at Christ Church; in addition to our Sunday services, which are a mixture of both formal and informal styles of worship, we also have a thriving toddler group, a Wednesday morning coffee group, and thanks to our Discover Christ Church! Project, Conversation and Craft (which brings children from our local schools together with older residents of the town), and a youth drop in (run in conjunction with BOA Youth).

Christ Church enjoys close links with Christ Church Primary School.  The 400 plus pupils use the church for their end of term services, concerts, carol services and festivals.  Teachers often use the church as a teaching space, with Collective Worship and Open the Book run by the church, being a regular part of the school week.  Church volunteers have led Experience Christmas and Experience Easter sessions for the school, year group by year group, and we have delighted in the resulting art and craft items which have decorated the church for weeks afterwards.

Our regular contact with Wiltshire Heights Care Home includes a monthly service of Holy Communion at Wiltshire Heights, which is led by one of the clergy and supported by several of the congregation of Christ Church.

Christ Church is a beautiful church that is available for weddings, funeral and baptisms. For more information, please visit our Life Events page.
